Why is important to teach Problem Solving in Preschool?
Is sequential which means that content is taught and builds on the foundations of previously learnt concepts. It is therefore very important that children have strong mathematical foundations.
Counters
Materials: · 2 Plastic plates · Flashcards with additions · Counters
Procedure: The child will take a flashcard and take the number of counters that says in the flashcard.

Addition

Five Green and Speckled Frogs
Materials: · Long paper tube · Construction Paper (green, brown and blue) · Scissors · Glue Procedure: The child will have to cut five rectangles of brown construction paper, on each rectangle they will have to paste a frog on a side and the wave of water in the other side. And then put the brown rectangles around the tube.

Paper Plate Addition
Materials: · Paper plate · Buttons · Sharpies Procedure: The child will have to draw in the plate with sharpies dividing it in three parts, draw a plus sign in the middle of two parts.

Paper rolls
Box of shoes
Foam
Pencil
Scissors
Bottle caps
Paint and paintbrushes
Flashcard with additions
Procedure:
The child have to create an addition tube, first of all he will have to paint if he wants the paper roll, then he will have to draw in the foam the addition sign and the equal sign too. Then paste it in the box and the paper rolls too. To use the addition box, he will have to take a flashcard with an addition and put the amount of bottle caps in each side.
